When David Balfour visits his uncle Ebenezer, he hopes for some good news about his inheritance. Instead he finds himself at the centre of a deadly plot: he is kidnapped and put on board a ship bound for America. After David makes friends with a Highland soldier, Alan Breck Stewart, he discovers that Alan has rebelled against the King of England.
